International Love Trailer
27 Aug 2003

The international trailer for "Love, Actually" can now be found at [http://www.comingsoon.net]. It's a lot longer than the trailer that I posted on the 17th and it's got quite a bit more Alan in it. I took some screen captures which you can go see [here].

Love Is All Around Us, Actually
17 Aug 2003

There's a lot of new news and such coming out about Love Actually. I've seen about 50 different release dates for the film, but the most recent is in this week's Entertainment Weekly (with Russell Crowe on the cover) which reports that the movie will be out on November 14. I'm not really sure who to believe on this one, I'm sure there will be a more concrete date as we move into the fall film season. Two posters have been released, which you can see [here] and [here]. While those posters may not have a picture of Alan on them, you can see him in the trailer [here].

Ahoy Matey

It's a pirate's life for Disney as they are backing yet another swashbuckling film, this time about Captain Kidd. Director Ridley Scott and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are adamant that the flick will not be a comedy, as this year's Pirates of the Caribbean was. Now comes the important part, as one of Kidd's enemies would be Alan Rickman as an admiral. I know, I know, we all would like to see him be a pirate. You don't even want to know what I would give to hear him say "yar, where's me booty" but it's just not in the cards. [rickman-fan.com]

Wash Brain, Rinse And Repeat

Pastor Tommy Turner has taken it upon himself to "cleanse" the souls of his parishoners by organizing a public burning of Harry Potter books. One young church goer was reported as saying "I'm very strongly against witchcraft... because I know it's not of God and I do everything God wants". Cuaron Too Lazy For Goblet
06 Aug 2003

Alfonso Cuaron, director of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (due out June 2004), has said that he will not be directing "Goblet of Fire", which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2005. His reason? "I'm extremely lazy," says the director. Cuaron was approached to do "Goblet", but declined. "It was always only 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' for me."
