[The Arvon Foundation] is hosting a gala dinner and auction next month just in time for Valentine's Day. Guests will be bidding on romantic readings from a number of actors, including the very talented Mr. Rickman. The winners will be able choose from a number of different readings, including "Sonnet 18" by Shakespeare ("Shall I compare thee...") and a letter from Napoleon to Josephine. PBS will be airing a biography on the legendary African American heavyweight boxer, Jack Johnson. Mr. Rickman has lent his considerable vocal talents to the documentary, entitled Unforgivable Blackness, which is scheduled to air January 17th and 18th on PBS. Hitchhiker's Guide To Alan Rickman

According to [IMDb], Mr. Rickman will be featured in the upcoming film adaptation of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as the voice of Marvin the Paranoid Android, who will be physically played by Harry Potter costar Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick). The cast also includes Alan's Love Actually costars Bill Nighy, who will portray Slartibartfast and Martin Freeman as Arthur Dent, as well as Something the Lord Made's Mos Def as Ford Prefect and Galaxy Quest costar Sam Rockwell as Zaphod Beeblebrox. This news was first reported by the director, Garth Jennings, on a BBC Radio 1 interview, who I'm rather certain is a credible source.
Snowcake Is A Go

It has recently been announced that Snowcake, directed by Marc Evans, has been selected to receive funding from Telefilm Canada. Sigourney Weaver, in an interview shortly after this announcement, reports that shooting is "going to start, hopefully, in January six hours north of Toronto or something really cold [Wawa, Ontario]." Ms. Weaver also said that she "can't wait to work with Alan again." You can read the entire interview [here].
