Merch For The Slytherin You Love
26 June 2004

Another update on [Hot Topic's] Harry Potter merchandise. You wanted Slytherin stuff and now we've got it. This very possibly could have something to do with my having harassed the buyer for the HP merch. Anyhow, there are Slytherin [stickers], [pins], [girls' tees] and [track jackets]. There are also Draco Malfoy girls' tees available, although they have not yet been put on the website. You can call your local Hot Topic (if you don't know where one is, check the website) to find out if they're carrying it.

The Final Verdict
04 June 2004

Well, I've seen it. This morning at 10, actually. I must say that it was well worth the wait. While I could have stood to see much more of Mr. Rickman in the movie, his ravishingly vengeful portrayal of Snape in the Shrieking Shack nearly made up for his noticeable absence in the rest of the film.

As for Alfonso Cuaron, I think he really did the book justice. The movie seemed to move along at a much faster pace than the previous two, just as, in my opinion anyhow, book 3 did. You've heard all the actors say this and it's very much true, it was much more of an emotional journey than an action packed summer blockbuster. It had it's moments, but they were not emphasized as being major plot points as much as emotional turning points were. All in all, excellent direction on Alfonso's part.

My advice? Go see it, as soon as humanly possible. Alan is, of course, wickedly divine, but two others also really stood out from the rest of the cast. Gary Oldman and Rupert Grint really gave spectacular performances. I would say more, but I don't want to give anything else away. Just go see it and then [tell me] what you think.
