Alan In Drag
25 Nov 2003
[TLC]'s interview with Jamie Waylett has a little snippet about Alan during the Boggart scene. It's rather amusing.
Even the adults are in on the fun. When dressed as Neville’s grandmother for the Boggart scene, Alan Rickman got right into character, calling out, ‘Hello, love!’ to all who passed him in his dress — as did his body double.
“Oh yeah, I was there when he filmed it,” says Jamie. “It was funny. Hairy legs.” |

Truly A Tearjerker
21 Nov 2003
[Entertainment Weekly] has compiled a list of the 50 Greatest Tearjerkers of All Time and two of Alan's movies have the distinction of causing us to bawl like babies. Truly Madly Deeply comes in at number 44, right behind Robin Williams' Dead Poets Society, and Sense & Sensibility right behind Truly. Here's what EW had to say about Rickman's "Kleenex Moment".
| "Letting go and moving on: After realizing he's forcing Nina to live in the past, Jamie waves, teary-eyed, from her living room window as she and a potential new companion embrace." |
On a more cheerful note, Love Actually has grossed $18.9 million to date and is currently the 6th top grossing film right behind Loony Tunes: Back in Action and Brother Bear.

Love Actually Opening Figures
14 Nov 2003
According to [Entertainment Weekly], Love Actually grossed a total of $6.9 million in its opening week. It may not seem like a lot when compared with Revolutions' $83.8 million, but one must also take into account the number of theaters the film premiered in. Love Actually was the 6th largest grossing movie this week, every movie in the top 5 opened in more than 2,000 theaters (the top 4 in over 3,000), whereas Love Actually hit only 576 theaters this week. With more and more openings every week, Love Actually's numbers should continue to do well.
Wayne Brady
13 Nov 2003
I don't know if anyone else had problems trying to see Alan on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, but I can tell you I did. I tuned in to ABC at 12:05 am to see Mr. Rickman's smiling face and was met with Entertainment Tonight. I was displeased, to say the least. But, when I got online to complain about the fact that I couldn't see the interview, I discovered that Alan will be a guest on Wayne Brady tomorrow. Or today, actually. Check your local listings for times.
UPDATE: Many of you probably noticed that Mr. Rickman was not on Wayne Brady's show yesterday. I think someone is out to get me.
Azkaban Trailer Released
12 Nov 2003
Just about every Harry Potter site has a copy of the trailer, took me 3 tries to find a site that wasn't overloaded, but I eventually did. I recommend trying [TLC], [Mugglenet], or [Godric's Hollow]. If all else fails you can come back here to see some screen caps once I've watched it or you can head on over to [DigiCasey].
UPDATE: I've just uploaded some screen captures from the trailer. Click [here] to see them.

Jimmy Kimmel Live (Revisited)
06 Nov 2003
The people who update the Jimmy Kimmel Live site appear to be having a dilemma. Alan is now back on the schedule for Wednesday's show, as well as Flea. It remains to be seen if it changes yet again.

UPDATE: According to the website ABC has for Jimmy Kimmel Live, Alan will NOT be appearing on Wednesday's show. It was changed sometime today, Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers is going to be on instead.

Our very own Alan Rickman will be pairing up with Italian Job's Mos Def for the new HBO movie, "Something the Lord Made". The flick will feature Mr. Rickman portraying Alfred Blalock, a white surgeon, and Mos Def will be Vivien Thomas, a black lab technician. [Click here] to read more about the movie.
