Rickman Reports For Duty
29 September 2004
According to [Veritaserum], a fan who wrote to Mr. Rickman received a letter back from his assistant, Melanie Parker, saying that she would pass the letter along but that Alan was "so busy on the set of GOF he wouldn't be able to write back at this time." So, bear in mind that if you plan on sending Alan any mail, you probably won't get much back, save for a letter from Ms. Parker, until after he's done filming. However, also keep in mind that with Alan on set, we may see some new pictures!
Layer Cake Premiere
24 September 2004
Mr. Rickman was spotted in London last night at the premiere of the new "British ganster flick," [Layer Cake]. Aside from the star, Daniel Craig (you may know him from Lara Croft: Tomb Raider), the film also features Potter star, Michael Gambon.
In The Pipeline
20 September 2004
This news bit is care of [Variety.com]. According to Variety, Mr. Rickman is set to star in a film with Greg Kinnear called "Four Last Songs". According to the article, the plot is as follows: "Wannabe musicians' big plans are thwarted by an unexpected arrival."
UPDATE: [Click here] to read the synopsis of the film from the BBC Films website. That site does not have any cast listed as of yet, but we will find out if Alan really is signed for this movie once that site is updated.
More Post-Emmy Fun
20 September 2004
The internet has been flooded with images of Mr. Rickman at the Emmy Awards last night; on the red carpet, during the ceremony, at the after party. It's endless. And to keep up with the endlessness, I've made an Emmy gallery, which you can get to by clicking [here]. If you come across any photos that are not there, please [send] them to me. There was also an amusing little tidbit in the news bulletins concerning the after party.
"Everything certainly is coming up roses for HBO," said Marlo Thomas as she eyed the lavish crimson decor of the Emmy-rich HBO party at the Pacific Design Center.
Roses were everywhere: in bunches on the tables and projected with color slides on the walls, ceiling and even on the carpet.
"Very sexy," said comedian Billy Crystal, while Alan Rickman, star of the winning TV movie "Something the Lord Made," joked he hadn't been inside anything so red "since my mother's womb."

Emmy Wrapup
19 September 2004
While dear Alan did not win the Emmy in the category for which he was nominated (Al Pacino took that honor), Something the Lord Made did win Outstanding Made For TV Movie, so we can be consolated by that fact. But, really, we all know that it's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you looked, right? And Mr. Rickman did look simply dashing, so I'll forgive the Academy...this time. Photos of said "dashingness" are pictured below. More from the red carpet and from the ceremony itself will be coming soon.
Academy Honors Emmy Nominees
19 September 2004
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences threw a little bash Friday night in Beverly Hills to honor the nominees of the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Mr. Rickman was on hand to join in the fesitives (though what activities said festivities consisted of, I know not). I've gotten a hold of a few full size images care of the lovely ladies of [TARF]. If you've found any others (perhaps without watermarks), or, when the time comes, have images of Alan at the Emmys, feel free to [send] them to me.
UPDATE: I've just added yet another photo of Mr. Rickman that was taken yesterday at HBO's Emmy Party held at The Peninsula Hotel. Nice shades.
Emmy Reminder (Revised)
18 September 2004
It looks as though Mr. Rickman will be attending the ceremony, as he was spotted at an event in LA honoring the nominees. You can check out some images [here]. So be sure to watch for The Man on Sunday night at 8 PM EST on ABC!
Emmy Reminder
13 September 2004
The 56th Annual Emmy Awards will be airing Sunday night on ABC at 8 PM EST. Mr. Rickman, as well as Mos Def, is nominated in Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for Something the Lord Made. I have not been able to determine if he will be attending the ceremony, but if he's already started shooting Goblet of Fire, chances will be slim. If you have any information regarding this matter, feel free to [e-mail] me.
Jamie Waylett Speaks
10 September 2004
[HPANA] was recently afforded the opportunity to speak with Jamie Waylett, better known as Vincent Crabbe. In the interview, Waylett mentioned that the Yule Ball scene was in the movie, although they hadn't shot it yet. Could that, perhaps, mean that the dear Potions master gets to blast rosebushes apart? Jamie also mentioned Mr. Rickman when asked about the chance to perform with so many prestigious figures of the acting world. Here's what he had to say:
| "I was really scared of Alan Rickman, not because of who he was playing but because he's Alan Rickman. He's great." |
Mini Snape
06 September 2004
This is not really news, but cool enough to be put in here. Thanks to [WIKTT], I've gotten hold of a link to a rather extraordinary piece of Snape-related artwork. An artist in the fandom named [Kathy] has created a 1" scale miniature rendering (a diorama, if you will) of Snape's office as seen in Chamber of Secrets. You can see her fabulous work [here].
